I hate the term "going natural." Black/African women don't go natural, we return natural. We convert back to our essence and reclaim our crown. Our hair speaks volumes as to who we are and where we come from. For generations we have been fed to believe our hair wasn't pretty, wasn't good and it needs to be "relaxed" to be accepted. Little did we know, our hair has connections to the Sun, our hair tells stories and most importantly, it's a distinctive part of our identity and our belonging to other "kinky haired" people across the globe!
Below, I briefly show you a step by step process for one of many hairstyles us "natural" hair women can do for an easy, stylish look! Now don't get me wrong, as a beauty professional, I love switching up my look. From short to long, adding extensions and braids and maybe some bold, wild coloring. But at the end of the day, I don't mind rocking out my real hair and creating a fun & flirty look with it!
This style usually lasts me about 3-4 days depending on if I workout and sweat it out! I wrap my hair at night with a loose bonnet to preserve the "curly fro" look of it. I awake, spray my coconut milk mist to wake up my curls. May spray a light shine mist by Design Essentials and I'm out the door! Hopefullyyou enjoy this look as much as I do!

Grab your awesome organic hair products and clean
your hair vigorously!
Step 2:
After shampooing and conditioning,
do a deep conditioner with an organic hair mask
infused with healing & repairing ingredients for your hair!
Sit under the dryer for 10-15 minutes on the cool setting.
Once your done, rinse with warm water.
Step 3:
Towel blot your hair. Do not completely dry.
Take a leave in conditioning spray, in my case I used
Alba Botanica coconut milk mist spray; and spray all over.
Some may use a foaming wrap lotion. I don't like putting
all those chemicals in my hair so I used a product that was less
harsh and vegan friendly. Other items you need are a comb,
hair clips, and roller rods.
Step 4:
Completely saturate your hair with your product
of choice. Then you want to part and two-strand twist
your hair, attaching a roller rod. Continue this until your
head is completely covered. It doesn't matter how big or
small your partings and twist are.
Step 5:
Once your finished twisting and rolling your rods,
you want to sit under your dryer, with the heat setting on high,
until your whole head is completely dry! This can take up to
a half an hour up to an hour or longer depending on how thick
your hair is. But be patient! The dryer it is the better the style and hold!
Step 6:
Remove rods and untwist!
(Finished pics were taken after I left my house.
Mommy duties were calling!)
And WALA! There you have a nice textured and
stylish curl for your natural, beautiful self!
